One Room Challenge: Reveal Part I

Well friends, thanks for sticking with me.  I know I am late to the party today….but you wouldn’t believe all of the craziness if I told you.  Just think…unreliable contractor, firing of said contractor and a punch list a mile long.  Add to that, the stomach flu floating around our house this week and a lost camera cord.  But without further a-do, here is a look at where we are at today…yay!  (I’m really bummed about the phone pics. but there are worse things)

I added a remnant of some grass cloth wallpaper to the back of the bookcase.  I am happy that I left the dark stain on the inside.  Love the contrast with the white and the best part is, it saved me time!  Hardware for the cabinet is on the list too.

I’m really happy with how the blue and white accents work with the other elements.

As you can see on this side we are so close.  It will be nice to have mirrors so that Jeff and I can get ready in our own bathroom again.  The kids are ready to kick us out of theirs.  Knobs and towel bars will be nice too.  I love our new sconce.  It gives off the prettiest glow at night.  Oh, and those faucets and counter top…..I feel like I’m at The Ritz.

I spent about $7 on each picture.  I enlarged pictures from our vacation to Napa.  One is of the bungalow that Jeff and I stayed in and the other is the view that we looked at everyday as we walked to the pool.  I can still picture that view so clearly.  I’m thinking this might be Jeff’s favorite thing in the bathroom once he see’s it.

You probably noticed that I said this was “Reveal Part I”.  That’s right.  There is lots more to show you.  I just ran out of time and man power.  Please keep checking back (or now you can subscribe by email so you don’t miss a thing!).

A special thanks to Linda for including me in this challenge.  I hope I didn’t let you down, girl!!

Just in case you haven’t yet, be sure to check out the other reveals.  They’re good.

I love the contrast too of your bathroom console…this is sooo charming. Sorry about your flaky contractor. It’s looking FAB…I’ll be back!

  2. I love that sink area and the sconce. Brilliant decision on the grasscloth backing on the cabinet and love the stained wood contrast against the white. Im here with you all the way! I know contractor problems can really mess up a deadline, but don’t worry, we all have faith in you and can’t wait to see it all! Good luck, and hope you all are feeling better!

You never let me down. Who can’t relate to the unreliable workforce in home renovation. I love your dark floors, blue & white, and the paneling. That marble is stunning. Sorry to hear about the stomach flu. I’ll be back for part 2, but you are almost there.

Lauren this looks amazing. Such a bummer about your contractor though. Love that you have a beautiful piece of furniture where there was once an unused giant tub….that must feel so great in the space! And I LOVE that you didn’t paint the inside of the armoire…looks fantastic with contrast.

Of course I love your planking…I agree with you, could have it in every room….love it! The blue and white looks great with your wood floors, rugs and walls….all so awesome together! Congrats on a job well done friend :) xo
