Thought I would report back to you on the recipes that I’ve recently tried from Pinterest and give you my little opinion.  First, I have to say I love having pinterest as a go-to source for recipes now.  So many great ones floating around out there, and not to mention, I was very happy to finally try some new things!!!  There was a whole lotta’ cooking going on around the Leonard house last week.  Some were hits some were misses.  Don’t forget I have 3 tough food critics in the house!

I started with the Baked Spaghetti with Cream Cheese.

Originally from here.

Looks yummy, doesn’t it?  I loved it…fairly simple to make but it did require the use of a lot of pots and bowls.  Big mess but tasted good.  Loved having a different variation of spaghetti.  Now my children on the other hand, were not fans.  They said it was “too cheesy”…..they weren’t fans of  the cream cheese sauce.

The next two were done in the crock pot….already liked them before I tried one bite.  Who doesn’t love the convenience of the crock pot?

First I made the shredded chicken tacos …..

Recipe from here.

Loved it!  Made enough for leftovers the next night which I used to make quesadillas.  I think the chicken was even better the next day.  These were given a thumbs up by the kiddos, too!

Next up was the Brown Sugar Balsamic Glazed pork loin…..

Recipe from here.

This was my absolute favorite!  The glaze was delicious and easy to make.  You could definitely use the glaze on other meats as well.  It has a yummy, sweet, tangy taste.  The recipe suggests cooking the pork for 6-8 hours.  I cooked mine for 7 hours and that was too long.  You know how easy it is to dry out pork?  Yes, that happened to mine, but it was still fantastic.  Next time, I will reduce the time to 6 hours.  One out of the three kids likes the glaze, the other 2 took theirs plain and still liked it.

Do you ever feel like you make your kids the same lunches over and over?  I certainly do, so when I came across this idea, I was quick to try it….

Recipe from here

Ellie and Parker loved them.  I knew where to draw the line and didn’t send them for my oldest son, Carson, who is almost 13.   He would have been mortified.

Lastly, moving out of the kitchen and into the bathroom.  I found this  idea on The Vintique Object, who also found it on Pinterest.

Camille tried it and gave it a thumbs up.  I gave it a go and have to agree, this works!!!  No joke.  Camille put it best “stinky but effective”.  Mix 1/2 a cup of hot vinegar with 1/2 a cup of blue dawn, spray it on your shower doors, leave it for one hour then wipe away….no scrubbing necessary.

Alright, so I can’t leave you with the thought of soap scum and vinegar so here are a few pretty pins for your Wednesday.

I could move in tomorrow.

How cleaver and inexpensive…rope towel bars.

Really?!?!  Wow.  Beautiful.

And finally….

I will announce the winner tomorrow!!!

Happy Monday.  How was your weekend?  We had a rainy and gray Sunday here in Florida.  If you follow me on Pinterest you may have noticed all of the recipes that I pinned over the weekend.  Not sure if it’s from the weather or if it’s because I’m tired of making the same 5 recipes over and over again.  I’m sure some of you can relate?!?!  I have the shredded chicken tacos in the ole’ crock pot as we speak.  I’ll let you know how they turn out.  This has certainly been a 2 cups of coffee type of morning.  WordPress does not want to cooperate today, but I’ll keep my finger’s crossed this goes through.

Speaking of Pinterest, here are a few pretty pins that have caught my eye.

Wow.  Isn’t this something?

There’s our friend Mr. Planking.

Pretty & simple styling.

Worked a little over the weekend.  Remember these built-ins?  Started styling them for my client.  We still have a ways to go but it’s a start.  The flowers to the left of the TV aren’t staying….we just grabbed them from the dining room to get an idea on the height that we need.  I suggested clipping palm branches.  I do that all of the time..they are tall and free!  Wish I would have hidden the lamps cords.  Really happy to see this project coming together.

Speaking of work…did you know I’m available for design consultations over the phone?  I like to talk on the phone.  It’s easy…you send me pictures…you come up with your questions….. and then we talk!  Contact me at LL@LaurenLeonardInteriors.com for more information.

I’m getting ready to have my first giveaway this week!  It’s a good one friends!!!

Always so inspired when I visit Pinterest.  I’m always amazed by all of the talented and created people out there.  Thought I would share some of my recent pins.

How many times do you see these in a thrift store?  Genius.

The next 2 just so happen to involve burlap.  What an easy and inexpensive way to dress up a table.  I would like to try this with the red upholstery webbing.  I have about 20 yards left over from Christmas….will have to file this one away for next year’s holiday decorating.

These burlap drapes are gorgeous.  They are from this etsy shop.  Notice the quality of the burlap.  That’s definitely not the kind you find at Joann’s.  Boy, and that trim!

This kitchen is so pretty.  I love the color of the cabinets, I have a thing for green, and the detail on the legs of the island.  But I think my favorite element is the brass hardware.

Hope you are having a good week.

Well friends we made it to Friday.  This week flew by…doesn’t it seem like Halloween was 20 minutes ago?  My brain feels a little fried.  My nine year-old asked for milk yesterday and I poured it into a sippy cup.  Don’t ask me why I still have sippy cups in my cabinet.  My daughter is almost 5.  Today’s post is a bit random.

I’ve been tile shopping with a client for her kitchen backsplash.  Lots of pretty options.  Like this white glass subway tile.

Or this beautiful green subway.  This would be pretty with white cabinets and pale, blue walls.

The one on the left is my favorite.

I came across a few things on Pinterest this week that made me laugh.  Who knew?  I thought pinterest was just pictures of pretty rooms.

 cute.

super cute.

I could have used this last week.

this sounds like my son.

 Happy weekend.

Hope you had a great weekend.  This weekend, I got caught up on housework and laundry…I know it doesn’t sound fun, but it feels good to have a little order back in my house.  I also spent some time on Pinterest.  Gosh, isn’t that fun?  It’s like scrapbooking, but so much easier.  I came across my bunk room a couple of times on Pinterest.  I was so excited!!!  Ok, more like in disbelief.

Are you ready for Halloween?  Sadly, our Halloween decorations didn’t make it out of the attic this year.  I had good intentions but one thing or another came up and the decorating didn’t make the cut.  I really hope to do better next year.  My neighbor is having a Halloween party tonight on her driveway before we go trick-or-treating .  I am trying to figure out what to bring.  I think I am going to make these.

Nutter butter cookies dipped in white chocolate.  Easy + Cute = Sold!  Plus, my 9 year-old thinks they look amazing!  Doughnuts and hot apple cider is another yummy idea.  There are soooo many cute holiday ideas on Pinterest.  Have you tried any?  Please share.

Some of you had questions about painting the bunk beds.  After I poured blood, sweat and tears painting them, I came across a sales flyer from K-mart (yes, K-mart is still in business) they sell white bunk-beds for the same price and from what I remember the style is very similar to mine.  I know…ugh!!  But if you do decide to go the Ikea route, I did not prime the beds before I painted them, but in hindsight I should have.  The beds are made of pine and now the knots in the wood are starting to bleed through the paint.  It’s not too noticeable, but if you look up close you can see them.  If you are going to paint them a dark color, this may not be a problem.

Thank you for all of your sweet comments about the HGTV.com feature and THANK YOU, THANK YOU for taking the time to visit my blog and for making this so much fun.  I appreciate every one of you!  Happy Halloween!

I thought it might be fun to try to put together one of the outfits that I pinned onto “my style” pinboard on Pinterest.  I should probably rename that board to “clothes I wish I had”.   I wanted to see how easy or difficult it would be to replicate one of the outfits.  This is the pin that I chose.

I like that this outfit consists of  “basics” that most of us already have in our closet.  The pops of coral and turquoise… plus a little leopard, make this a stylish outfit you could wear everyday.  Plus, I already have leopard flats, a similar turquoise bracelet, jeans and a white t-shirt.  Hey, I’m almost there!

This is what I came up with……

1.  Cargo Tote  $168.

2.  Handkerchief Cardigan  $16.99.

3.  Featherweight Oblong Scarf.  $32.90

4.  Basic T-shirt  $14

5.  Leopard flats  $59

6.  Turquoise earrings  $68.  I like these.

7.  Bracelet  $30

8.  AG Farrah Skinny Jeans  $168.  For some reason the bottom of the picture got cut off in the collage.

Don’t worry, I promise I will never do a “what I wore” post like you see on some other blogs……I know my limitations!

Always so much inspiration to be found on Pinterest.

Pretty color combination.

Welcoming entryway.

This kitchen is perfect.

Display perfection…and the jars…love.
