On one of my recent stops into a local antique store, I came across some adorable vintage flash cards…originals, not reproductions. I don’t have a place for them but they were just too cute and too unique to pass up. So I snatched them up with plans to list them on etsy. But before I do that, I thought I would show them to you in case you may be interested in them for your child’s room or playroom. There are a total of 15 of them and each one is 2 sided with different pictures on each side. They are made of heavy cardboard and are big….each one is 24″ x 20″ . They are $20 each (plus shipping).

I think these would look adorable with grommets in the upper corners and hung by jute string or ribbon, or even framed in skinny black frames. Need some inspiration ideas? These flashcards would look great in any of these rooms. Here are a few rooms that I found on Pinterest.

Hello there. Thank you for all of your help with the Anthropologie pulls and for your kind offers to check your local stores. I am happy to say the hardware crisis is over. One of my e-design clients found them at her local store and now those babies are on their way!
The other day I told you that my boy, Parker had a birthday, and today I’m very excited that his room has been featured on Holly Mathis’ blog. I think if Holly and I lived in the same town we would probably be hitting up World Market together on a weekly basis. We both also have a thing for lights. She posted about this light from Circa Lighting and that is the same light that I used above his bed.
( I really need to learn to take better pictures!)

I’m in the process of trying to figure out the paint color for my daughter’s room. So far I’m up to 4 tester samples. Each time I think to myself, “this one is it”. But then it’s not. I’m getting close. …I think.
You may remember a while ago I posted my design board for my daughter’s room.
The paint color in the design board is BM Blue Lace. It turned out too blue. Now I am looking at BM Sterling.
I’m also trying to decide on the headboard. Originally, I was thinking about doing some sort of canopy but I am afraid that would be something she would out grow. Not to mention I have a fear of committing to a fabric. I really want to incorporate the raffia texture somewhere in the room, however, I priced out raffia wallpaper…it’s expensive. So that made the wallpaper decision very easy. I have several yards of raffia “fabric” that I purchased years ago.
I’m going to use this to make her headboard. Now I’m trying to decide on the shape of the headboard. I’m thinking something like this. Can you see it? Sorry the picture is so small.

The dresser in the design board is from Ikea. I like the size of this dresser and it fits her room well but I want to make sure she has something that will last a long time. Has anyone purchased a dresser from Ikea? I’d love your input.
At this point, I am sure about the fabrics. The rose/coral solid linen will be her bed skirt and an accent pillow. I’m also going to use it for her roman shades. I really like this window treatment idea.

I will use the John Robshaw fabric for the euro sham. Now I just need to get the paint color right!
