One of the projects that I am currently working on is a kitchen and breakfast room. The homeowner would like to somehow use her current dining chairs, so I have been looking at different slipcover options to give the chairs a new look and to help incorporate them into the new design. There are a lot of great ideas out there.
It would be easy to find a set of these chairs on Craigslist or at an antique store for next to nothing. Because of the style of my client’s chairs, I am probably going to go with a skirted option similar to this. I like the button detail.
More cute button details.

Oh, those pleats and a monogram.
From here.
This one is on my never-ending project list. I think I could sew this….but not the monogram.
I saw this fabric at Calico Corners the other day….$19.99 a yard. So cute.
It made me think of this.
I just had to include this one, too.
It would look adorable on this bar stool from World Market, only $99 people.
Have any fun plans for the weekend? Hope it’s a good one!
This week Bryn Alexandra did a post on gingham fabrics and it reminded me of this dining room in Canadian House and Home. Love how fresh and preppy it looks. The antique brass light fixture is perfect. This gingham pattern is actually painted, talk about tedious fun. To achieve this look, you use three colors on the same paint chart, starting with lightest and going down. Instructions can be found on their website. This would look so cute as an accent wall in a child’s room or playroom. I’m thinking this would be perfect for my small, dark and dreary laundry room. But I have to ask myself…do I have the patience for this? Um, no.
This might be more on my level…..wallpaper in the back of a hutch or bookcase.
Now I better start cleaning before my sister and her family get here. Have a great Labor Day weekend!
